2001 PMSL ‘B’
Division Champions
Congratulations to the 2001 West Laurel Wahoos – all 143 swimmers and their coaches, Marie Tomarelli, Kelly Bowman and Shannon Tuel – for an undefeated season. The Wahoos won all 5 dual meets as well as the ‘B’ Divisionals. WAY TO GO WAHOOS!
PMSL ‘A’ Division
Here We Come!
This season we will be competing in Division ‘A’ along with Belair Bath & Tennis, Belair Swim & Racquet, Temple Hills, Takoma Park, and Whitehall Pool & Tennis. With all three coaches returning, the team is gearing up for an equally exciting and challenging 2002 season. The league team power rankings indicate that 2002 promises to be a very competitive season with only 2 to 3 points separation between most teams. GO WAHOOS!
In addition to the A-Meets we are scheduling several B-Meets. Currently we have meets scheduled with Adelphi and Strathmore Bel Pre and we hope to add two more soon. We will also participate in the New Carrollton Relays, the Laurel Invitational, and the Knights of Columbus Mini Meet (swimmers 10 & Under). GO WAHOOS!
All swimmers, ages 5 – 18, are invited to join the 2002 team. Registration will be Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31 from 4:30 – 6:00 pm at the pool. The registration fee for 2002 is $40.00 per swimmer. 2002 is a new suit year. New team suit ordering will be conducted at all registrations with suits available for sizing. The cost of the suits is separate from the registration fee.
Practice will begin Tuesday, May 28, 2002 with afternoon sessions from 4:30 –5:30 pm (ages 12 & under) and 5:30 – 6:30 pm (13 & over). Morning practices (tentatively scheduled to start June 16, 2002) will begin once school lets out for the summer.
Dual meets begin on Saturday, June 22. Time trials will be held Saturday, June 15 from 9:00 am – noon at the pool. Complete schedules will be available at registration and posted on the Swim Team Bulletin Board at the pool.
