West Laurel Swim Club

Situated on Brooklyn Bridge Road, across from the Supplee Dam (T. Howard Duckett) Recreation area, right at the Montgomery, Prince George's and Howard County lines is the West Laurel Swim Club. This private, community swimming facility has been a popular summertime attraction to local residents for over twenty years, offering a large, private pool in a quiet, relaxing environment. The club is a non-profit organization, not attached to any city or county governments. A small board of directors whose aim is to provide a clean, pleasant swimming atmosphere for all of its members provides oversight.

Being the largest outdoor pool in the county, it provides more than ample space for casual swimming, as well as providing lap lanes for the most ardent swimmer. Of course, it comes with a large diving well, sliding board, and at one end, a roped area that is two to three feet in depth, for our younger swimmers to play. Vending facilities, a well-stocked snack bar, clean showers, restrooms and changing areas are provided. The club sponsors a competitive swim team for children up to 18 years of age. The swim team had an undefeated year in 2001 as champions of the PrinceMont League. On site professional contractors provide the operation and management of the club.  Swim lessons are provided at a nominal fee.

Our membership fee is only $375.00, (which is returned when you choose to sell you membership), and a $50.00 non-refundable initiation fee. The 2004 yearly maintenance fee is $325.00, and as a special offer, if you join by April 15th of this year, we will deduct $100.00 from that charge! That's quite a saving. In addition, the refundable membership fee can be paid in monthly installments, if you desire.

All you have to do is call our pool secretary Betty Mannas at (301) 725-2034 to gain more information about the pool, as well as enroll for the discount rate. If payment for both the non-refundable initiation fee and the yearly maintenance fee is received by April 15th, you qualify for the savings! Don't miss this opportunity to join the best run, nicest facility of this kind in the tri-county area. Call today for additional details. Our secretary will be happy to mail you our information brochure, describing our swim club in detail. You can also email a request for information to mailto:WLSwimClub@aol.com.
